Comprehensive Speech-Language Evaluations
Before any therapy begins, we need a clear picture of what's happening. A comprehensive evaluation assesses speech sound production, language comprehension and expression, voice, fluency, and — when appropriate — cognitive skills and swallowing function.
The evaluation identifies whether a disorder is present, how significant it is, and what approach will actually help. You'll leave with clear findings and a recommendation, not a vague sense that something might be wrong.
Individualized Speech-Language Therapy
One-on-one therapy targeting the specific areas identified in your evaluation. We work with articulation and speech clarity, expressive and receptive language, stuttering and fluency, voice disorders, aphasia, dysarthria, and apraxia of speech.
Sessions typically run 30 minutes to an hour. Goals are built around your situation and revisited as you progress — what works for a four-year-old learning sound production is not what works for an adult rebuilding language after a stroke.

Cognitive-Language Retraining
A stroke, brain injury, or neurological diagnosis can affect far more than speech. Memory, attention, reasoning, and the ability to organize thoughts into words are often disrupted at the same time — and those skills are what make everyday communication possible.
Cognitive-language retraining rebuilds those underlying abilities alongside speech itself. We work with adults recovering from stroke and traumatic brain injury, and with those managing progressive conditions like Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and ALS.

Comprehensive Evaluation
Your first visit is a full assessment. Your speech-language pathologist evaluates the areas of concern, identifies deficits, and determines whether therapy is appropriate.
A Plan Built for You
If therapy is recommended, we build goals specific to your needs — not a standard template. You'll know what we're working toward and why.
Ongoing Support
Therapy continues at a pace that fits, with goals reviewed and adjusted as progress happens. Families and caregivers stay informed throughout.
Augmentative & Alternative Communication
Some individuals have speech impairments significant enough that spoken words alone can't carry their message. AAC provides another way — from picture-based systems and communication boards to speech-generating devices.
We evaluate which system fits the person, then train both the individual and their family to use it. The need may be temporary during recovery, or permanent. Either way, the goal is the same: giving someone their voice back.

Swallowing Disorder Therapy
Difficulty swallowing — dysphagia — is more common than most people realize, especially after a stroke or with a neurological diagnosis. Signs include coughing or choking during meals, food feeling stuck, trouble chewing, or unexplained weight loss.
Left untreated, dysphagia carries real risk, including aspiration pneumonia and malnutrition. We assess how safely and efficiently you're swallowing, then build a treatment plan with exercises, positioning strategies, and diet modifications that make eating safer.
Hearing Screenings
Hearing and speech are closely linked — an undetected hearing loss can look a lot like a speech or language delay, particularly in young children. Screening rules it out before therapy begins.
We provide hearing screenings for preschool-age children through adults. If results suggest a concern, we refer you to an audiologist or physician for full diagnostic testing.

We accept Medicaid and Medicare, along with some major private insurance plans. We also offer a financial assistance program for qualifying families. Call us at 409-729-2227 and we'll verify your coverage and walk you through your options.
Cost depends on the services needed and your insurance coverage. As a nonprofit, we work to keep care affordable and offer reduced-cost services based on financial need. Give us a call and we'll go over the details with you directly.
Yes — a physician's referral is required before we can begin services. If you don't have one, call us at 409-729-2227 and we'll walk you through how to get it. Your primary care doctor, your child's pediatrician, or a specialist can all provide one.
Every client begins with a comprehensive assessment. Your speech-language pathologist will evaluate the areas of concern, identify what's going on, and recommend a treatment approach. If therapy is appropriate, we'll build goals specific to your needs and can often begin shortly after.
It depends on the communication needs we're addressing. Session length and frequency vary from person to person, and your speech-language pathologist will recommend what's appropriate after your evaluation. We'll go over the schedule with you before therapy begins.
Both. We serve clients ages three and up — from preschoolers with speech and language delays to adults recovering from a stroke or managing a swallowing disorder.
